Multidisciplinary artist Mery Horta presents her first solo exhibition—curated by Carolina Rodrigues, who also authored the critical text—bringing together photographs, objects, paintings, and performances that explore the theme of Afro-Brazilian ancestry through the memories of her maternal family. The artist, who developed this body of work alongside three women from her family (her mother, godmother, and cousin) at her home in the Bangu neighborhood, connects ancestral memories to her own reality as a Black woman from the city's periphery.

Some works from the Ladainha exhibition were included in the Entre terreiros e quintais exhibition at the Museum of the Republic RJ in 2024, curated by Isabel Portella.
